Multiple Triggers in an eDrum - My thoughts
Recommended for traveling/touring edrummers that need peace-of-mind Trigger Redundancy
A great idea for those vendors that want to make more money off of their customers. UFODrums values don’t align with greed - overpricing, upselling, creating a false problem to offer $olution$.
A great idea if a vendor is using inferior piezo’s and foam interface parts, thus compensating by adding more inferior triggers to improve trigger performance coverage. UFODrums uses the best quality Murata piezo’s from Japan, along with very durable hand-soldered wiring and a foam OctaCone interface. Our triggering systems are 2nd to none!
A great idea to ride the current trend bandwagon. UFODrums values don’t align with opportunistic gimmicks.
This is how UFODrums generally feels about multiple triggers, however, they do have their place in a situation or two.
Situation 1 - Traveling/touring edrummers that need peace-of-mind Trigger Redundancy in their drums because of the continuous setup/teardown/travel cycle that might put a single trigger at risk of failure with all the rough handling and transportation.
Situation 2 - Not all electronic drum modules/midi software systems AND mesh heads being used are created equal, especially the entry level equipment. With that said, if your converted drum seems to struggle with trigger performance consistency that can’t be rectified by ensuring proper spec physical install OR software trigger parameter fine-tuning, then adding a 2nd trigger may improve consistency, sensitivity and dynamics.
In the end, if a customer wants/needs multiple triggers inside their converted edrums, we are happy to oblige and have just added this option to our new website so you don’t have to make a custom part request.
