My church has a set of Roland VDrums. The snare and low tom pads had lost most of their sensitivity. After a lot of research, I found UFO Drums. The customer support was terrific. All of my questions were answered before I purchased and plenty of material was supplied to help make the upgrade go smoothly. I thought the remaining drum pads were "ok" until I performed the upgrade. Now I'm ordering replacements for the whole kit. My only recommendation is that if you're planning to upgrade, you work with someone who has some experience with soldering. Instead of the supplied wire nuts, we soldered the new wires to the old ones and then used heat shrink wrap to secure the connections.
Awesome experience with these guys. Product was shipped very quickly and came with detail instructions. I've done this before so I had a good idea on how to install the cone and triggers. Total time was about 45 minutes to complete. Worked very well on my Roland pd-105 pad and was very close in size to the original cone if not exact. If you have Roland dual trigger pads make sure to get the dual trigger kit. I ended up going with the cone shape trigger and not the octo cone as the cone was more like the original Roland cones. I will be doing more business with these guys and ordering more soon to complete the rest of my set. Well worth the time!!!!! Thanks guys!
I had never built my own trigger before but I wanted to replace my Jobeky ai trigger with the boltless cake pan build found on YouTube. I ordered this package with the rim and installed them centrally on a 13" cake pan I bought from Amazon for $11. I also bought the UFO long trs jack. After a trip to home depot to the tune of $3 for metal plates and #8 bolts and nuts I had everything I needed to replace my other trigger. The result is amazing! The triggering is super consistent all over the head and the cross talk is non existent. Props to UFO drums for selling this neat little package.
I used one of your kits to refurbish an old Roland 12" e-drum and the results are amazing. I had dropped a kit from another manufacturer in just a couple of weeks ago and the results were workable, but lackluster. I decided to go ahead and try your setup out, along with a 3 ply head and I can't express how pleased I am. My drum now has a feel and sensitivity as fine as any acoustic snare I have ever played. I am in the process of outfitting a set of old Mapex shells with your kits and heads now. It feels like Christmas.
Just replaced my piezo elements and what a fantastic improvement, my 12 year old PD-125 plays like new! The job was quick and easy thanks to the instructions Mitch sent. The parts were less expensive than Roland’s too. To sum it up, good stuff, great prices, fast shipping and fantastic customer support! You’d think I bought a drum kit not just a few parts. Thanks Mitch! I’ll be ordering more, want to redo the whole kit now!
